Initiative 1000 was passed on November 4, 2008 by a margin of 15 percent, according to the official website of Washington’s Secretary of State Sam Reed. The official tally showed 58 percent voted in favor of the initiative, while 42 percent voted against it.
This outcome follows the results of polls taken prior to the election, including a poll sponsored by King 5, a statewide Elway poll, and an independent poll.
